What is agricultural colorant used for in fertilisers?

Agricultural colorant is used to identify fertilisers and plant protection products visually: it makes it possible to distinguish between products, concentrations or batches, and prevents mix-ups during field application. In addition, the pigmented coating on the fertiliser prill improves its commercial appearance and can act as a protective layer against moisture. Are Agronyl colorants safe for the soil and the environment?

What is the difference between mass colouring and coating a fertiliser?

Mass colouring involves mixing the colorant directly with the fertiliser before granulation, producing a uniform colour throughout the granule. Coating is a post-granulation process: a layer of colorant is applied to the surface of the granule, creating a protective coloured finish. Both options are compatible with Luengo Color's Agronyl and Agroseed ranges.

Which types of fertiliser can be coloured with the Agronyl range?

The Agronyl range is suitable for colouring compound granules, urea, DAP, CAN, blends, crystalline fertilisers, liquid NPK fertilisers and liquid plant protection products.
