Industrial solid pigments

Frequently Asked Questions

When are solid pigments preferable to liquid dispersions?

Solid pigments (powder or granules) are preferable when the manufacturing process cannot accept additional water or solvent, when very large volumes make transport in solid form more efficient, or when the formulation requires a very high pigment concentration. Luengo Color's Oxinyl (inorganic) and Organyl (organic) ranges offer high-quality solid pigments for demanding industrial applications.

What is the difference between Organyl organic pigments and Oxinyl inorganic pigments?

Oxinyl inorganic pigments (mainly iron oxides and other minerals) stand out for their high resistance to light, heat and alkalis, and are especially suitable for exteriors, cement and high-durability coatings. Organyl organic pigments offer a wider colour range, with more vivid and brilliant shades, and are preferred in applications where colour intensity is key, although they may require more care in extreme conditions.

In which industrial applications are Luengo Color's solid pigments used?

Oxinyl and Organyl solid pigments are used for colouring cement and concrete, powder coatings, mass-coloured plastics, ceramics, composites and other systems where incorporating powder pigment is the most suitable technical option. They are also used as a raw material by other formulators to manufacture pigment pastes. We also offer a range of ready-formulated RAL colours.

What degree of micronisation do Luengo Color's solid pigments have?

Luengo Color's solid pigments undergo strict quality controls on particle size, tinting strength and physico-chemical parameters to guarantee batch-to-batch reproducibility. The exact degree of micronisation varies depending on the product and application.
